The Prime Minister issued a statement on the shooting of peaceful demonstrators yesterday, after the emergency meeting, and it stated:
In the name of of Allah the Merciful
A statement from the Transitional Prime Minister following the emergency meeting on the crime of using live ammunition against peaceful demonstrators
During the past hours, we were shocked by the attacks on peaceful demonstrators who gathered in the vicinity of the General Command on the anniversary of the massacre of dispersal of the General Command sit-in and state sit-ins, which led to the fall of two martyrs and the occurrence of dozens of injuries among the ranks of the rebels.
Our memory is still burdened with the events that took place two years ago in the vicinity of the General Command and the state sit-ins, which shed the blood of the sons and daughters of Sudan, and the hearts and hearts of the families and friends of the martyrs are still covered with wounds, while the Independent Investigation Commission continues its investigations to uncover the perpetrators of the sit-in dispersal and bring them to trial.
What happened yesterday, corresponding to the twenty-ninth of Ramadan 1442 AH, is a full-fledged crime in which live bullets were used against peaceful demonstrators, and this is something that cannot be tolerated at all, and it will not be tolerated or ignored.
The transitional government came in difficult conditions of balance and took responsibility in this difficult time to work to achieve the goals of the revolution, on top of which is justice, and to seek to protect Sudanese blood in every region of the homeland, and this is a trust that we carry before God, the people and the homeland.
The slowness of the justice systems in detecting crimes and bringing criminals to trial has become a constant and cause for concern, and from here we call on them urgently for a deep review of their methods and methods of work in victory for the values of the glorious December revolution.
The revolutionary forces have accepted the partnership system to bring together all the forces that believe in change to help accelerate the transition process, and this agreement places responsibility on all parties. In the context of assuming this responsibility, we call for urgent meetings of all its components to review and correct the process.
Within the framework of this responsibility, the Prime Minister was invited to each of the Ministers of Interior, Defense and Information, the Director of the General Intelligence Service, the Attorney General and the Governor of Khartoum, for an emergency meeting during which reports were submitted about what happened, and the Prime Minister asked them to complete their investigations and to accelerate the investigation into what happened to hand over the wanted persons. Immediately and without delay obtain justice.
Our message to all the forces of the revolution, our country is at stake, and our unity behind the goals of the glorious December revolution is our only option, and it is what we will fight for and work for without tiring or slowing down.
Mercy and glory be to the martyrs, and may God protect Sudan and its people from all evil.
